We often get asked, "What's the longest beam you can make?" Well, my friend, the longest that we have made is 175', that is just as tall as a 16 story building! Crazy.
A request for a beam that long doesn't come around too often. But requests for beams between 80' and 100' come up fairly often through out the year. Recently we've been gluing some pretty long beams. This below is a photo of four 95' long beams.
The photo doesn't do it justice, so I ran up into the loft area to capture some people and objects for scale.
These beams are the entire length of our glue room, which ends up being equivalent to an 8 or 9 story building. Straight beams of this length can be glued on our standard form. We do need special setups when curves or beams are longer than this.
