Our big beams are all grown up and off to school, to be the school that is.
Last November we posted a series on the production of these mammoth beams, 14" x 70"! Everything from the gluing process to planing and the final finishing of the beams. Now, they are being installed for the new Upper Merion High School in King of Prussia, PA.
Using wood in schools benefits more than just the natural environment, it also has a positive impact on the built environment. Studies have shown that exposed wood buildings help reduce stress and increase productivity, leading to a better experience for the students and staff.
