Unalam is located in rural Upstate New York. The two villages we are located in do not have paid fire departments, which means we rely on volunteers for emergency services. We would like to thank these volunteers for their selfless service to our community.
We currently have two volunteers employed and couldn't be prouder. Craig, our President, understands how vital they are and allows them to leave whenever they are called. They respond to everything from fires, to car accidents, farm accidents, and even the occasional water rescue on the Susquehanna River. Both serve on the Sidney Fire Department and Water Rescue Team.
We want to say thank you to Lee Young and Greg Peck for not only your dedication to Unalam, but to the community. We also want to thank Craig for allowing them to take calls while on the job. It's important we all help take care of each other in our small communities.
