Restorations and Renovations!

The Warner Theatre, commissioned by the world famous Warner Bros., first opened in 1931. Originally built as a luxurious movie palace, the theatre has been used throughout the years for everything from weddings to vaudeville shows.

This, more than grand, theatre is currently renovating, not only the historic parts of building, but the oft forgotten backstage. The renovations include more space backstage and a new rehearsal space for performers.

Unalam is currently fabricating the roof beams for the rehearsal space. They consist of two 6-3/4" x 36" curved beams shop assembled with glulam blocking.

Here is a series of photos from template to fully fabricated and wrapped!

Above on the left we have the template laid out in order to set the forms to the right profile. On the right are glued beams stacked and waiting to be planed.
Above and below, are two glulam curved beams being assembled. There is glulam blocking in between the beams and knife plate connections for purlins on either side.

Below is a fully assembled unit, wrapped, and waiting to ship.

When the theatre reopens, later this year, the Erie Philharmonic will celebrate with a holiday show. The theatre is home to the Erie Philharmonic, Lake Erie Ballet and the Erie Broadway Series.
