Unalam Is A 2016 FSC Leadership Award Winner

This evening, our President Craig and VP of Operations Leif will receive a 2016 Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Leadership Award. The award will be announced at an awards reception at Greenbuild (greenbuildexpo.com) - in Los Angeles, CA. We are being recognized for our use of FSC certified products and commitment to responsible forest management.

Our FSC story began around 2007 when we first worked to become Chain-of-Custody certified. This means that we are certified for purchasing, manufacturing, and selling FSC 100% and FSC mix lumber for use in our custom glulam material. We are very proud of this because we believe that we were one of the very first glulam manufacturers certified in North America.

Since then, we have partnered with many owners and design teams to supply FSC glulam on a variety of projects. Because we are a custom manufacturer, we have been challenged to source a wide range of certified lumber for projects ranging from salt storage buildings to outdoor trellises and everything in between. 

At tonight's ceremony, Craig and Leif will probably mention (as they are fond of doing) that Unalam has been able to grow and innovate over our 100+ years in business by maintaining our value that making the most efficient use of resources is friendly to the earth and good for business. We share this value with the Forest Stewardship Council, and we are honored to receive this leadership award. Thank you!
